Just wanted to share some information! Our basketball tournament is Dec 11th this year and there will also be a transition fair going on at the same time in the cafe put on by the Francis Howell School District. If you have questions about either – please reach out.. Eddie Mulholland 636-851-5115 edmund.mulholland@fhsdschools.org

The Francis Howell School District’s Alternative Learning Department is excited to sponsor the 2021 Community Resource Fair on Saturday, December 11. Once again, the Resource Fair will take place alongside the Francis Howell Special Olympics Annual Basketball Tournament. The tournament has been a significant success in attracting hundreds of participants and spectators. Combining the Community Resource Fair and Special Olympics competition will allow individuals to connect with our community’s resources.

The Resource Fair has been an ongoing tradition of our district for almost a decade, intending to connect and educate as many individuals to available resources. The event has averaged over 40 vendors dedicated to serving people of all ages and specializing in recreation/leisure, mental health, behavior supports, post-secondary transition, and much more in the past years. Please share the attached flyer with staff, students, parents, and anyone else who may benefit.

***BASKETBALL IS STARTING SOON***

by fhso

I hope we find everyone doing well. Very excited to let everyone know we are going to start practices for Basketball soon!!

First thing we want to do is find out who all is interested in playing this year. Below is google form that we ask you to fill out before Nov 1st. SOONER THE BETTER THOUGH. This is going to help us figure out how much space we need and how many teams we will have this year. If you fill out after Nov 1st we can not guarantee competition

Practice will be on Tuesday nights starting November 9th through March.
Where – Seager Middle
Time – TBD but between 5:45-8

Note from Special Olympics on Restrictions – The basketball plan is that masks are worn off the court and in the facility but can be removed during play. If there is room to adequately social distance, the mask may also be removed in the facility. So, coaches may be able to space bench chairs at events so that masks would not be required on the bench. Spectators would mask unless there is adequate social distancing.

If you have any questions please reach out to Eddie Mulholland edmund.mulholland@fhsdschools.org or 636-851-5115

Our plan is too start practice late January or early Feburary, but would like those who are interested to fill out the following google form to get more information. Please fill out the google from by next November 1st. Starting Powerlifting does have some upfront cost because of the required uniform for competition. Softball – State Tournament Brackets

by fhso

All,

Please see the schedule for the State Tournament on Saturday, September 25 in Jefferson City at the Binder Sports Complex (280 Binder Lake Rd.  Jefferson City, MO  65109) Map is attached in the email.

Francis Howell Vikings: Game 1 – Byrd Field 10:00 AM

Game 2 – (Win) Scott Field 3:00 PM

                                                             (Lose) Byrd Field 1:45 PM

Francis Howell Spartans: Game 1 – Scott Field 10:00 AM

                                              Game 2 – Byrd Field 12:45 PM

Please be at the park at least 60 minutes prior to Game 1.

Also, I have a couple of issues that I have mentioned before.  I can only pitch in one of the first games and possibly the second of the Spartans games, as I have a wedding I have to attend later that afternoon.  If I can get someone to volunteer to pitch that day, it would be greatly appreciated.  If one of you can, please attend practice at 5:00P M this Sunday so the team(s) can get accustomed to your pitching.

I you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Thanks,

Coach Dave

Softball – Practice Sunday September 12 and 19

by fhso

All,

I am moving up practice to 5:00 PM for the next two weeks because it will begin to get dark sooner as we move toward the end of the month.

Also, please let me know as soon as you can whether or not you will be participating in the State Games on September 25.  I need to know who will be there and also, since lunches will be provided for the athletes, who would like to take advantage of that.  The only word I have so far is that the games begin at 10:00 AM.  I do not have a scheduled time for any of ours in particular.  I will let you all know as soon as I get the information.

There is also a good chance that I may have to leave early that day as I have a wedding (not WEEDING!) to go to in Branson on the same day.  If anyone can help out with pitching to either team, let me know as soon as you can and if possible, attend one or both of the upcoming practices.

Thanks,

Coach Dave
